The Learning Place

The Learning Place is a project based in Dundee's Hilltown area, designed to help people to stabilise their lifestyle and overcome barriers to progress.

Beneficiaries usually fall into one of these categories:

• Longterm or recently homeless
• Chaotic lifestyle (due to drug use, criminal convictions etc.)
• In need of support or guidance

This is achieved by assisting people with personal development tailored to individual needs and encouraging them to take the next steps to where they want to be. We offer a relaxed and welcoming environment that is conducive to learning, where people can safe and comfortable in the knowledge that they have all the support they need on hand.

The Stirling Street premises are open Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm, when people are welcome to drop by. We also encourage referrals from other organisations.

Services on offer include:

• Literacy and numeracy tutoring for all abilities
• Introduction courses for computing
• Life skills e.g. healthy eating, budgetting
• Help creating a C.V.
• Job search and training advice
