CraigOwl Communities is managing a project with funding initially for two years, during which we will work with the sector to develop a social enterprise to provide a wide range of ICT goods and services on a not for profit basis.

The project aims to address the needs of voluntary sector organisations which depend on their ICT systems for their core functions and particularly those which rely on non-specialist staff or volunteers to support their ICT.

• Organisations are supported to develop their ICT strategy and policies and to produce a development plan for ICT linked to their regular business plan.
• Training is available to staff and volunteers to develop basic ICT technical skills at the "first-aid" level.
• Practical support is available where appropriate and a bank of specialist ICT service suppliers is being developed for organisations to call on for particular needs.

The project is being serviced by a small team initially, with the potential to grow as new related projects are implemented.
